Roger Phillip Edwards, age 66 of Lewes, DE, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at his home. He was born on October 15, 1953 in Lewes, son of the late Raymond and Emma (Hazzard) Edwards.
Roger was born and raised in Lewes and was a graduate of Lewes High School. He built a career with SPI Pharma, spanning over 38 dedicated years. Roger was a product of coastal living; he truly enjoyed everything the area had to offer, including the beach, fishing, and boating. He was incredibly social, attending weekly mens group dinners at the Horse Island Club. He had the innate ability to make conversation with anyone; even complete strangers. Above all, Roger cherished time spent with those he held most dear, especially his beloved grandchildren. He was a loving and devoted companion, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, with a zest for life that will be genuinely missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Wood. He is survived by his companion of 20+ years, Lynne Strauss of Lewes, DE; his son, Bryan Edwards (Bethany Radcliffe) of Lewes, DE; his daughter, Carla Robinson (Jason) of Columbia, TN; his grandchildren: Bailee, Cody, Sydney, Ayden, Elaine, Tyler, and Cailin; his brothers: Ronnie Edwards (Rachel) of Lewes, DE, Donnie Edwards (Connie) of Millsboro, DE, and Dale Edwards (Teresa) of Lewes, DE; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private. Roger would have preferred everything to remain casual; please dress accordingly.
