My mom, Julie Manck, her family and mine offer our condolences to Roger Aubrey's family. My father, Edward Manck whom has since passed, served on the 34th Photo Reconnaissance Squadron with Roger. Over the years, my folks would always look forward to attending their yearly reunions. I didn't know Roger until after my dad died in 2015. One summer, he travelled to our area wanting to see the D-Day Memorial, which is very close to my mom's home. Roger came over for dinner at my brother's home where we met him for the first time. He was a very nice man who was filled with so much zest for life, wonderful stories, memories, and positivity! We loved hearing his stories and by the time he left, Roger became another family member to us. He had a very caring way about him and genuinely wanted to know how we were all doing when he would call or visit and offered advice to help. Roger was able to connect with so many folks and he shined everywhere he went. People saw it and felt it in their hearts. Roger will be sorely missed.
