Robert Wriston's Obituary
Robert D. Wriston, age 70, of Millsboro, DE, son of Nanny Beatrice (Arthur) Wriston and Clyde Osington Wriston died Thursday, December 20, 2007, at Lewes Convalescent Center in Lewes, DE. Mr. Wriston was born in Beckley, West Virginia and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. He loved to sing and excelled with his talent, winning television and radio competitions. After moving to Delaware, he joined the Wilmington Brandywiners musical group where he sang in the musical "The Student Prince". He was employed by Delmarva Power Company as a power equipment operator, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Mr. Wriston was preceded in death by four sons: Steven, Ralph, Rodger and Russell.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia (Smith) Wriston; 2 daughters: Robin Wriston of West Grove, PA and Shannon Crockett of Seffner, FL; one son, Robert A. Wriston of Ocean City, MD; a sister Linda Hicks of Alabama; 2 brothers: Richard of Beckley, WV; and Neal of Ohio; 3 granddaughters: Jessica Grenier of Newark, DE and Bailey and Mackenzie Crockett of Seffner, FL; and a grandson Shaun Wriston of Millsboro, DE.
Robert is in the hands of our Lord and at peace. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
