Robert A. Wolak's Obituary
Robert A. Wolak, age 74, of Millsboro, DE, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 27, 2023. Born on May 17, 1958 in Sandusky, OH, he was the son of the late Joseph Stanley and Ellyn Marie (Capega) Wolak.
Although born in Ohio, Robert’s family moved to Connecticut, where he spent his formative years. It was there in New England, that he learned to ski, which became his favorite pastime as a youth. After high school, he attended Villanova University in Philadelphia, PA, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. There, Robert developed leadership skills that would serve him well throughout out his career. He retired as the Vice President of Redcoat Cleaning Company of Bethesda, MD, a career that was both rewarding and challenging.
Throughout his life an in retirement, Robert collected NASCAR model cars and had accumulated an impressive collection. He loved American-made automobiles and was also a boat enthusiast, and always appreciated the fine ingenuity and craftmanship involved in the auto industry. Although he enjoyed his hobbies, nothing could compare to the love that he had for his friends and family and the time spent with them was what he cherished most. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who will be deeply missed by those who were fortunate to have known him.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Boswell-Wolak; his son, Seth Wolak (Meridith); his daughter, Keara Wolak; and his grandson Charles “Charlie” Wolak, all of Annapolis, MD; his sister, Lyn McPhelimy; his brother, Joel Wolak, and his former spouse, Patricia Smith.
