He was my history teacher at EHS. Out of all the teachers there he sticks in my memory expecially with his TANSTAAFL acronym. He was a great educator and will be deeply missed. My condolences to his family.
I am deeply saddened to learn of Mr. Wimmer's passing. All the comments I have read are spot on. He was a fantastic history teacher an asset to the EHS faculty team. Beyond teaching he was giving of his time and a gentle guiding hand. He assisted me personally during my senior year with the regard of possible career paths to pursue in college. He provided sage advice that has paid dividends through my life.
Thank you Mr Wimmer; teacher, kind human and soul, mentor, a true American patriot.
I will miss you.

I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I taught in the room next to him for several years at EHS. Bob was always so upbeat and his students loved him so much. When I student taught at EHS with Fred Kuzma as my cooperating teacher I often observed Bob, Jim O'Leary and Bob Sofka. Now all three of them are gone. I will always treasure how much I learned from all three of these men. Bob and I often spoke and he was always such a good friend. My thoughts & prayers are with all of you.

We met Bob about 18 years ago and always considered him a friend. He was a kind and thoughtful person.
One day while visiting Bob we admired the plush and beautiful hosta plants in his garden.
A few days later to our surprise we found that Bob had left several hosta plants and fertilizer in a wheelbarrow at the side of our home.
We will always cherish those plants as a memorial to Bob and remember his kindness and generosity
Our sincerest condolences to Sue and family.

Mr. Wimmer was my History teacher in high school. He went out of his way to engage his students and he was a true gentleman. He will be missed by so many. Sending my deepest condolences to his family. May he Rest In in peace.
Mr Wimmer was my favorite teacher throughout my time at Edison High School. He was so engaging and so approachable. He made learning fun and treated everyone with respect and made you feel like your opinion mattered. He loved engaging students and listened intently in what you had to say and loved to be challenged. I vividly recall many conversations and being challenged to think for myself. He helped me become a better student and a better person. May he Rest In Peace and his memory stay with me forever.
to one of the greatest teacher ever. Loved you and all the things you taught me. RIP, I hope to meet up with you again some day. Healing and prayers for your family
Mr. Wimmer was not only my favorite teacher, but also an excellent one. I graduated in1965. He was liked by all. Yes, he was a gentle soul. We were going to have our Class of 1965 reunion in 2020, but Covid changed our plans. We still haven’t been able to figure out when to have it. We were looking forward to seeing several teacher, but especially Mr. Wimmer.
