Robert Weissberg, Creative Art Director, Teacher 1936-2015
Robert “Bob” Weissberg, age 78, of the Bronx, NY and Old Tappan, NJ passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at his home in Lewes, DE. He was born on September 11, 1936 in New York, NY, son of the late Harry and Sadie (Greenstein) Weissberg.
Mr. Weissberg was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was incredibly generous with his time and talent; Bob was the happiest spending time with his family and friends. He never missed his grandchildren’s birthdays and family milestones.
Mr. Weissberg attended Hunter College, The Cooper Union and served our country in the United States Army. He enjoyed a successful career as a Creative Art Director responsible for the print ad images of clients including, The American Cancer Society, Look Magazine, MGM, Borden Foods, General Motors, Andy Warhol and numerous syndicated television publications.
After retiring from advertising, Bob began a second career as a Teacher. He was active in the Cooper Union Annual Campaign, the local election board and coached little league. He was passionate about his appreciation for the arts, reading, travel, music and film.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Weissberg was preceded in death by his wife, Diane (Rothenberg) Weissberg. He is survived by his two sons: Mitchell Weissberg (Melissa) of Manchester, NH and Jason Weissberg (Kathleen) of Milford, DE; two granddaughters: Tamsin Weissberg of Manchester, NH and Delaney Weissberg of Milford, DE; two grandsons: Jonas Weissberg of Manchester, NH and Grayson Weissberg of Milford, DE; and his brother, Michael Weissberg (Shelly) of Cooper City, FL.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
