Robert Dale Stevenson's Obituary
Robert Dale Stevenson, age 92, of Lewes, DE, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at the Renaissance Healthcare in Millsboro, DE. He was born September 20, 1915 in Lewes, son of the late Robert D. and Mary Edith (Warrington) Stevenson.
Mr. Stevenson worked for the Civilian Conservation Corp before entering the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a baker and served his country at Pearl Harbor, in Panama and in Germany. Following his military career he worked as a baker for Beebe Hospital. He also worked for a local painting company painting houses. He was a faithful member of Conley's United Methodist Church and a devoted husband and father.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nellie Pauline Stevenson; two sons, David W. Stevenson and Robert D. Stevenson, both of Lewes; two sisters, Doris Carmean and her husband George of Georgetown, DE and Aline "Stevie" Marstiller and her husband Bob of Lewes; two nieces and two nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred W. and Russell Stevenson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 22, 2008, 11 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE where the family will receive friends beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be at Epworth Methodist Cemetery, Rehoboth Beach, DE. Pastor Randy Booth will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to: Conley's U. M. Building Fund, 22150 Robinsonville Road, Lewes, DE 19958 or Gull House, 38149 Terrace Road, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
