Robert D. Smith's Obituary
Robert D. Smith, Jr., age 82, of Bridgeville, DE, a loving husband, a devoted father and a wonderful friend passes away Monday, October 1, 2007, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, DE. He was born September 29, 1925 in Bridgeville, son of the late Robert D. Smith, Sr. and the late Anita Verona (Messick) Smith.
Mr. Smith was Secretary/Treasurer of T.S. Smith and Son, a family owned and operated business in the Bridgeville area that he retired from in 1982. The business was founded by his grandfather. He was also a member of Union United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife, Glena Jeanette (Short) Smith; his son Robert D. Smith III and his wife Stephanie of Milford, DE; his daughter Glena Smith Huskey and her husband Ty of Seaford; his granddaughter Sara Smith of Milford; his grandson Christopher Huskey of Seaford; his sister Margaret Lent of Longwood, FL; and his brother Jerry Smith of Seaford.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 4, 2007, 11 AM, at Union United Methodist Church, Laws and Market Streets, Bridgeville, DE, where friends may call one hour earlier. The Rev. Dale Brown will be officiating. Interment will be at Bridgeville Cemetery in Bridgeville. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, Bridgeville, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Union United Methodist Church.
