Robert A. Sarnas' Obituary
Robert A. Sarnas, age 56, of Milton, DE died suddenly at his residence on February 8, 2011 with his loving wife by his side. He was born December 17, 1954 in Irvington, NJ, son of the late John and Joanna (Wurtzbacher) Sarnas.
In his early years, Mr. Sarnas was an Assistant Coach for the World Hockey League which he thoroughly enjoyed. He was employed by Continental Motors for many years where he worked on electric motors. He loved coaching, reading, gardening and the challenge of jigsaw puzzles. He and his wife moved to the beach in 2003 where he enjoyed the peacefulness of his home.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Donna (Chojnowski) Sarnas; two brothers: John Sarnas of Kearny, NJ and Henry Sarnas of Bayville, NJ; his Godmother, Eileen Black of Wall, NJ; cousins: Gil and Joan Laureigh of Milton, DE, Christine and Ron Caudill of Bayville, Toni and Thomas Gnizdowski of Brick, NJ and Swider and Godlewsky families of Great Meadows, NJ; nieces: Magda and Malwina Sarnas of Kearny, NJ; and his Best Pal and Pet, “Sunny Girl.”
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 12, 2011, at 12 Noon at St. Edmond’s Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Ave., Rehoboth Beach, DE with the Rev. James Downs presiding. Friends may call at the church on Saturday beginning at 11 AM and also on Friday, February 11, 6-8 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice.
