Robert Paul Pierson's Obituary
Robert Pierson passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He will be remembered for his devotion to those he loved, his decades of military service, and the steady strength and loyalty he brought to his family throughout his life.
Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Laura Pierson, with whom he shared many cherished years. The life and love they built together continue through the family they treasured.
Robert was the proud father of Tamara Cornelius and a devoted stepfather to David and Paul Elwood. He also played an extraordinary role in raising his granddaughters, Laura and Jennifer, loving them as his own. Robert took great pride in watching his grandsons, Gary, Travis, and Adam, grow and build lives and families of their own.
Robert's great-granddaughter, Jocelynn, brought a special joy to his later years, along with plenty of smiles, laughter, and, as the family lovingly remembers, a few rolling eyes. He celebrated each one of his Great-grandchildren including Emily, Samuel, and Miles.  Robert is also survived by his brother, Paul Dennis Pierson, and his sister, Marcia Faye Colleran.Robert honorably served his country for 35 years.
While serving in the United States Air Force, he was a flight engineer of the C-141s and was active during Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraqi conflicts among others. Â His military career was a source of great pride and reflected the discipline, loyalty, and sense of duty that shaped the way he lived his life.Robert was also a devoted NASCAR fan who rarely missed a race. He loved following his favorite drivers and sharing that enthusiasm with family and friends. But no interest meant more to him than his family. Holidays, stories, celebrations, and simple time spent together were the moments Robert valued most.
Robert will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, quiet wisdom, humor, and generous heart. His influence will continue through the family he loved and the many people whose lives were made better by knowing him.The family extends its deepest gratitude and love to the staff and residents of Truitt Homestead, who filled Robert’s days with laughter, music, companionship, and more than a few funny hats.
Robert will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by everyone who knew him. Â
