Robert L. Merlonghi's Obituary
Robert "Bob" L. Merlonghi, age 72, of Millsboro, DE passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE, after a courageous battle with cancer, in the arms of Marijane, his beloved wife of 49 years. He was born Tuesday, February 01, 1944 in Wilmington, DE, son of Domenick and Mildred (Pajerowski) Merlonghi.
Bob graduated from Wilmington High School in 1962. He retired from Local 313, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, as a Master Electrician, and was honorably discharged from the Army National Guard of Delaware. He was a member of the American Legion, Amvets, ABATE of Delaware, and Delaware Mobile Surffishmen. Bob was a sports enthusiast, enjoying tennis, hunting, fishing, boating, motorcycles, and cars (most recently Corvettes). He looked forward every year to traveling to Cape Canaveral, FL with his wife and best friend Storm to visit his Florida friends and watch rocket launches, Navy submarines, and cruise ships. While there he also loved to fish and attend car shows.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother Domenick Merlonghi, Jr. He is survived by his devoted wife, Marijane (Baran) Merlonghi.
All services will be private, per Bob's request.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Bob's memory to the Tunnel Cancer Center, 18947 John J. Williams Highway, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
