Robert Lichtenberg's Obituary
Robert “Lichtky” Lichtenberg, age 73, of Millsboro, DE, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023, at his home. He was born on April 26, 1949, in Queens, NY, son of the late Emanuel and Beatrice (Miller) Lichtenberg.
When Robert turned 7, the family moved from Queens, NY to White Meadow Lake, NJ, and that became the place that he called home, it was a great place to grow up. His family-owned Lichtenberg Buick car dealership and was very well known in town. Always ready with a friendly smile to everyone he met, it was often joked that he was “mayor of White Meadow Lake”. Through the years, he worked for several dealerships in addition to his family’s business. Robert also worked as a security guard, always known for his fairness in every situation. At the age of 34, he married the love of his life Nancy Lynn (Haddock) and together they would create a beautiful life and family together. In his spare time, he enjoyed boating with family and friends, and he loved the challenge of a good crossword puzzle. Above all, the time spent with family and his loved ones were what he treasured most. Robert was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife of thirty-nine years, Nancy L. Lichtenberg; his son, A.J. (Irina) of White Meadow Lake, NJ; his sisters, Marion Halpern (Joel), and Elieen Shapiro (Rabbi Howard) all of Florida; his precious pups, Ava, and Bear; his grand- puppy, Luna, and grand-cat, Jax.
