Bob was born December 11, 1955, in York, PA to Lois (Wambaugh) Kohler and the late Robert Kohler. He was a graduate of William Penn High School class of 1973. For 28 years, Bob was employed in the sales and customer service departments at Fry Communications, Mechanicsburg, PA. Bob belonged to many clubs and organizations throughout his life.
Bob leaves behind to celebrate his life, his 96-year-old mother, Lois (Wambaugh) Kohler, wife of 44 years, Nancy (Knaub) Kohler, two children, daughter Kristen (Kohler) Gorsuch and husband, Todd of Mechanicsburg, PA, Jordan Kohler of Mechanicsburg, PA, a brother, David Kohler and wife, Janette, of Shermans Dale, PA, brother-in-law David Knaub, sister and brother in-law Karen and Jerry Boyd along with two nieces, Megan DeHoff, husband Chad and Erin Henry, husband Mat.
Bob leaves a legacy of faith, family, and fun. He loved first and foremost his family, friends and his beloved doodles, Ollie, and Ryley. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, the beach, storytelling, and the New York Yankees. He was a member of the First Church of God (COG) in Mechanicsburg, PA for over 35 years serving many roles as teacher, cook at the Community Center and friend to many.
Christmas was his favorite holiday, and he would like nothing better than Christmas, with his family. He loved Christmas decorations, and his Christmas meals were spectacular with love built into every bite.
In 2020, he fulfilled a life-long dream of living at the beach. He and his wife, Nancy moved from Mechanicsburg, PA to be closer to the beach in Lewes, DE having spent much time throughout his life vacationing at Lewes and Rehoboth Beach.
Bob was resilient and a fighter. He struggled for many years with his health. He overcame health adversities that seemed impossible to overcome. On September 17, 2022, he went to be with his Lord and Savior after his physical body could not endure any more, despite his mental desire to continue to persevere.
There was never anyone like him and there will never be again. We know he is in heaven
getting the party started and rejoicing with the angels. Bob, please reserve a spot for us until we see you again!
