Robert N. Jones' Obituary
Robert N. Jones, age 62, of Lewes, DE, formerly of Bridgeville, DE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Harbor Healthcare in Lewes. Born on August 29, 1960, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Mason Byrd and Donna (Hinton) Jones.
Robert was a 1980 graduate of Friendly High School in Fort Washington, MD. With a lifelong passion for the culinary arts, he enjoyed a lengthy career as a chef at the Harrington Racetrack. It was a career that allowed him to express his talents by creating delicious creations and meeting hundreds of people. He was an active member of the Seaford Elks Lodge # 2458, and the Harrington Moose Lodge #534, where he made many friends through the years. Above all the time spent with family and friends was what he cherished most. Robert was a kind and loving son, brother, nephew, and friend and will be forever missed by those who knew him.
Robert is survived by his brother, William Mason Jones (Diane), of Waldorf, MD; his uncle, William D. Hinton of Charleston, WV; his aunt, Barbara D. Chambers of Orlando, FL; and his cousins, Christian Chambers, of Honolulu, HI, and Thomas Marshall of Crozet, VA.
A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at the Washington National Cemetery, 4101 Suitland Rd, Hillcrest Heights, MD 20746.
