Robert A. Hoffer, age 65 of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away Tuesday June 13, 2017 at Cadia Renaissance after losing his fight to recover from a brain injury and stroke. He was born May 2, 1952 in Philipsburg, PA, son of the late W Read Obituary

I never met Bob but often saw his genuine smile in the pages of Letters, the Camp Rehoboth community magazine. Rest in peace Bob.
I got to know Bob in 2013 when we both served on the Leadership Group for the CAMP Rehoboth Chorus. I was treasurer and Bob was secretary, a job most people avoid. Bob carried out his responsibilities with competence and passion. I believe he was so good at being secretary because he truly cared for the Chorus and CAMP Rehoboth. His teaching experience shown through when we sang for the children at the Burton Village Community Center at Christmas where he magically got the children to focus on singing carols. I left the chorus a few years later to pursue other singing venues, but Bob and I maintained a friendship through circumstantial meetings. I do miss Bob’s open arms and smiling face when we would meet at Aqua Grill on Friday nights.

I taught with Bob at P-O for 30 plus years. He was such a class act and a true professional. He was respected by students and staff. Bob was great fun out of the classroom also. We ran in the same circles and partied a lot at Daisy's house. He is with Daisy now teaching from above. I am so happy he found you Max and you had all these wonderful years together. May God give you strength Max. Bob will be missed by all who ever came across his path.
Bob was my neighbor,family friend,classmate,band partner at Philipsburg,Pa. We shared college together also..what projects he'd come up with!! Horse riding an elevator at Lockhaven! He was the Epitome of what a teacher should be. He brought JOY and Excitement to each day. He also gave Life lessons and thought to help people grow. All the kids Loved him as he taught them and yes US! Thank you Bob for Helping us be Better People. The World was Blessed By YOU :)

Bob, it has been an honor and pleasure working with you and Max since you both brightened the doors of CAMP Rehoboth. I will miss seeing you at all our events and hearing your sweet cheerful voice calling to give me a new business name that wants to advertise in Letters. My deepest sympathy for the family! Mr. Hoffer was my 6th grade teacher, he always made class fun, Everytime my family goes to the Wallaceton Boggs school we talk about how much fun we had there, he was one teacher all the kids hoped they would get!
Heartfelt sorry to hear of Bob's passing... True gentleman and it was a honor to know Max and Bob both professionally (Dos Locos) and as a friend. Enjoy many wonderful moments with the guys! The two of them, were true supports of the local businesses and he will surely be missed! Loved seeing him get giddie... Wonderful person and we will miss you our friend.
