Robert Earl Ford's Obituary
Robert Earl Ford III, "Ducky" age 42, of Millsboro, DE, passed away on Sunday, February 06, 2011 at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He was born in Huntsville, AL. on September 14, 1968 son of the late Robert Earl Ford, Jr. "Buck" and Kathryn Lynn Shockley Ford of Lewes, DE.
Mr. Ford was a self employed man of many talents including working as a trim carpenter, plumber and electrician and helped to maintain the Palmer Shopping Center. Camping and motorcycles were hobbies in his spare time. He was a member of AMVETS and was a former Junior Member of the Lewes Volunteer Fire Department. He was passionate about cooking and enjoyed being the CHEF of the house. Devotion to his soul mate Amanda Jane Wright Ford, whom he married in 1996, along with his children and his family gave him immense pleasure and joy.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived two sons Jarrett and Reed at home, his brother Adam Ford and wife Jessica, and his maternal Grandmother Gertrude Shockley, all of Lewes, DE; his mother-in-law and step father-in-law Jane & James Miller of Long Neck, DE.; father-in-law and step mother-in-law Robert and Carol Wright, sister-in-law Katie Wright and niece Madison Ford, all of Lewes, DE. He will also be missed by the numerous members of the extended Shockley Family.
Funeral Services Pastor Fred Duncan officiating will be held on Friday, February 11, 2011, at 11:00 AM, at Bethel United Methodist Church, 129 W. Fourth Street, Lewes, DE, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Friends may also call on Thursday February 10, 2011 from 6-8 PM at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE. Burial will follow the services at Bethel Methodist Cemetery, Savannah Road, Lewes, DE.
