Robert E. P. Gogerty's Obituary
Robert "Bob" Elza Patrick Gogerty, age 72, of Bridgeville, DE passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015 at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, MD. He was born in San Diego, CA on February 8, 1943, son of the late Robert and Shirley Gogerty.
Bob proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1960 to 1962 and later in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 to 1970. He enjoyed a lengthy career in the two way radio industry, retiring as a Program Manager from Motorola Solutions.
Bob was a practical joker who loved making his family and friends laugh. He also enjoyed creative writing and relaxing with his family while watching a movie. Bob believed in doing random acts of kindness for strangers such as buying them dinner. He was a man of many attributes who will be remembered for his generous heart and joking spirit by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his son, George Gogerty. He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine Gogerty; three sons: Robert P. Gogerty of Reston, VA, Richard A. Carrion and his wife Judy of Stevensville, MD, Jonathan L. Carrion and his wife Nicole of Grasonville, MD; three granddaughters: Josephine and Aileen Gogerty both of Germany and Ava Carrion of Grasonville, MD; and two brothers: Jerry and Jack Gogerty both of Tucson, AZ.
