Robert R. Clayville's Obituary
Robert "Bob" R. Clayville, age 71, of Bridgeville, DE passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 25, 2013. He was born in Dagsboro on February 23, 1942, son of the late Jesse Clayville and Mildred Cooper . In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Janet and George McFarland and brother in-law Brooks Wheatley.
Mr. Clayville was a 1960 graduate of Milford High School and then entered the National Guard. He retired in 1998 from the DuPont Nylon Plant in Seaford, DE where he worked for 38 years. Mr. Clayville loved horses and horseback riding, especially with his Tennessee Walker "Buddy." He enjoyed reading or casting a fishing rod when the fish were biting. Mr. Clayville loved the beach and in recent years, vacations in theYucatan Peninsula, Mexico.
He also had a great love for Indian history and if you touched his life, you would soon be given your very own Indian nick name. The family, in turn, unanimously gave him the Indian name of "Brave Heart" for his courage and endurance. Mr. Clayville was very family oriented and enjoyed spending time with his young nieces and nephews and grandson. He was a loyal friend to all. He will be missed by many and remembered lovingly by all.
Mr. Clayville is survived by his wife of 33 years, Caroline W. Clayville; sons: David and Danny Clayville of New Jersey and Robbi Smith and wife Susie of Lincoln, DE; 2 sisters: Patricia Ament of Milford, DE and Chris Ross and husband Martin of Delmar, DE; 4 sister-in-laws: Jane Love of Seaford, DE, Cathie Jo and her husband Cecil of Laurel, DE, Dorothy Wheatley of Lincoln, DE, and Linda Wheatley of New Hope, VA; 2 grandchildren: Brooks Smith and Rielle Smith of Milford, one great-granddaughter Bliss Smith of Milford, many nieces and nephews with whom he had a very close relationship and his beloved Tennessee Walker and faithful friend "Buddy"..
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE. The family invites you to share any humorous stories during the celebration. Friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the services at Bridgeville Cemetery, Bridgeville, DE.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 163, Salisbury, MD. 21803.
