Robert W. Chambers' Obituary
Robert Chambers, age 84, of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was born January 14, 1928 in Woodbury, NJ, son of the late Thelma Middleton.
Mr. Chambers worked as a security guard in his later years; he was a member of the Knights of Columbus; and he served with the U.S. Coast Guard. His hobbies included a love of model trains and working crossword puzzles.
He is survived by his loving wife Catherine (White) Chambers; two sons: Bill Chambers and his wife Maria of Cinnaminson, NJ and Mike Chambers and wife Sandi of Lewes; a daughter, Cathy O’Hare and husband Timothy of Philadelphia, PA; nine grandchildren: Brian O’Hare, Kelli Ann O’Hare, Ryan O’Hare, Jason O’Hare, Matthew Chambers, Lisa Chambers, Sarah Chambers, Sean Chambers and Jacqueline Chambers; three great-grandchildren; and his sister Shirley Robertson and husband Scotty of Ft. Myers, FL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Ransom Catholic Church, 6700 Roosevelt Blvd., Philadelphia, PA 19149 on Thursday May 3, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Friends may call at the church beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will be at a later date at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
