Bob has been a steadfast friend of MERR and the marine animals that we rescue. He started helping with dolphin rescues during MERRs infancy, and was always at the ready to lend his boat so that we could get to animals on the water that needed our help. He was especially helpful with two young dolphins that spent the summer in the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal near the railroad swing bridge in Lewes. Using his fish finder, he helped us document the water depth and lay of the land as we planned for a potential rescue if needed. Luckily the dolphins left on Labor Day weekend, after keeping us on our toes since July 4th. Bob also created works of art that highlighted the exploitation of whales, and wrote a book on the same subject. Bob will remain an unforgettable part of MERR, and his love of the ocean will live on in the work that we do.
