Robert Eugene Campbell's Obituary
Robert Eugene “Geno” Campbell
February 6, 2025
Robert Eugene “Geno” Campbell completed his adventurous journey on February 6, 2025, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Born on June 13, 1947, to Bob and Mara Campbell in Elkins, West Virginia, Geno was a man who embraced life to the fullest.
He is survived by his cousins in Calci, Italy—Roberto, Giulia, and numerous others—as well as many dear friends. Geno was a proud graduate of Florida State University, where he majored in Geography, History, and Italian. He was an active member of his fraternity, Phi Gamma Delta.
Geno’s passions were many. He loved everything Italian, traveling, history, geography, Harleys, cooking, photography, stamp collecting, camping, and, of course, the music of Jimmy Buffett. He was a very loyal friend, deeply patriotic, and had a profound love for his country. Geno was also an avid Washington Commanders (formerly Redskins) football fan and a huge fan of the Washington D.C. area baseball teams.
In 1984, Geno joined Delta (Western) Airlines, where he became the Lead Italian-speaking flight attendant, a role he held until his retirement.
Geno's wish was for his life to be celebrated with a party, and this celebration will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, starting at noon in Calci, Italy. Friends and family are invited to attend. Please contact Jane, Susan, or Giulia for more details and to let them know if you plan to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion Post 17, 113 American Legion Road, Lewes, DE 19958.
Please sign the virtual guestbook located on the tribute page.
