Robert "Bobby" Charles Slacum's Obituary
On Saturday October 12th as a new day's dawn breaks on the horizon Robert "Bobby” Slacum gave thanks to wake and see another day. His body was weak and tired, but he was always grateful and appreciated every day the Lord gave him on earth. He passed away peacefully at home with family at his side.
Bobby attended Woodbridge High School. After high school he became a mechanic, where he was awarded multiple awards from Chevrolet. Later, he changed career paths and retired from the State of Delaware, where he was in charge of maintenance and facilities of Blades Kindergarten.
Bobby was well known for his mechanical skills and ability to fix just about anything. He was always willing to help anyone in need. Bobby never knew a stranger, he loved to talk. After retiring, Bobby enjoyed spending time with his wife (Linda) his dog (Shadow), family, and friends. His hobbies included camping, gardening, grilling, and feeding his birds.
Bobby is proceeded in death by his first wife Margaret Slacum, his father George Slacum Sr., Mother Mable Robbins-Wingate, sister Kaye Ingram and dogs Asia and Shadow.
Bobby is survived by his wife Linda Tanglao-Slacum, daughters Bobbie Slacum, Deana Hughes-Milligan (Mike), Vicki Slacum, Son Scott Slacum (Gwen).Brother George Slacum Jr. ( Judy). Granddaughters Megan Milligan, Tessa Slacum, Sabrina Denney (Zach), Tabitha (Zach), Jenna Slacum, Hannah Slacum. Grandsons’ Matthew "Hunter" Milligan (Becca), Trevor Smith. Great granddaughters, Quinn and Lainey. Great grandsons, Ezekiel, Ezra, Kayson and Grayson. Long time friend Barbara Dickerson.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 7:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes Hardesty Chapel 202 Laws St. Bridgeville, DE 19933. Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
