Robert C. Belmont's Obituary
Robert C. Belmont, age 74, of Lewes, DE, formerly of Upper Chichester, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at his residence. He was born April 5, 1934 in Ridley Park, PA son of the late Charles John and Frances Virginia (Barlow) Belmont.
Mr. Belmont was raised in Boothwyn. He was an Upper Chichester Police Officer for more than 36 years and a lifetime member of the Boothwyn and Linwood Fire Company. He recently celebrated 22 years as a member of the Penn Lodge #709 F. & A.M. of Pennsylvania. He also served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of St. James Anglican Parish of Georgetown, DE. He was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife Janet B. Belmont; his former wife Florence Belmont; a daughter Beverly and son-in-law Harry Culbert; three grandchildren, Brandon, Brittany and Zachary; a great-granddaughter Kayla Marie; step-children, Kim Zarett and Paul Losak; sisters, Patricia O'Berg of New Jersey and Elizabeth Frank of Maryland; and a brother Charles Belmont of New Jersey.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 7, 2:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Anglican Church of India, P.O. Box 1500, Havertown, PA 19083 or to St. James Anglican Church, 23269 Park Avenue, Georgetown, DE 19947.
