Robert E. Barnes' Obituary
Robert E. “Bobby” Barnes, Jr., a resident of Bethesda, MD, died unexpectedly on July 19, 2015 at the age of 44 following injuries sustained in a fall.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Oxana Cesnova; and his many friends.
Bobby was born in Easton, MD on August 1, 1970, and was raised by his grandmother, Fay Faulkner. He graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Political Science and worked numerous service and managerial jobs in the hospitality industry. On November 30, 2010, he married Oxana, who he completely adored and who adored him in return.
Bobby embraced life, and was the life of every party. He was passionate about traveling, and had visited more than a dozen countries and all over the United States. While not close with his biological family, he made his own family of friends to whom he was unfailingly loyal and loving, and was loved deeply in return. He enjoyed going to the beach, listening to music, scuba diving, and was learning to surf. He loved to follow the news, especially politics, and could be found playing Words With Friends any time of the day. His dog Reuben, who preceded him in death, was a constant and irreplaceable companion for much of his adult life. He was a devoted friend, who would sacrifice his time and resources to help those he loved, regardless of the consequences. He has, quite literally, given people the shirt off of his own back. He worked countless hours on the Bill Lee for Governor campaign in 2008. He was a brother to his friends, and a loving uncle to Jack and Swain Lee.
Services will be held at the residence of his lifelong friend Leslie Caruso on August 1, 2015 from 3-6 pm.
