Rita Driscoll's Obituary
Rita Driscoll, age 90, of Greenwood, DE, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. Born on September 9, 1932, in Freising, Germany, the daughter of the late Simon and Ursula (Kapser) Eckert.
In 1960, she married the love of her life, Daniel W. Driscoll, and they would spend sixty-two years together, raising a family and building a beautiful life together. For many years, she worked as a manager for a local laundromat. Rita was hard-working and she took great pride in what she did. She enjoyed teaching her children and grandchildren about their German heritage. She also took pleasure in gardening, knitting, and bowling. Above all, the time spent with those she held dear was what she cherished most. Rita was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Rita will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to have known her.
In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daniel W. Driscoll in 2022; her son, Karl Kapser; her daughter, Roswitha Metzler, and her siblings, and Robert Mollnar, and Alfred Kapser of Germany. She is survived by her siblings, Ursula, and Julia; her son, Daniel Driscoll (Catherine) her grandchildren: Sandra Toner (J.T.), Andrew Driscoll, Robert Driscoll, Rachel Driscoll, Karl Kapser, Shane Kapser, Heidi Kapser, and Rudi Metzler; her great-grandson, Aiden Toner, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Services will be private.
