I miss Uncle Richard. I will always remember the road trip we took from Harbeson, Delaware to Beckley, WVA to see Aunt Gloria, his sister and my aunt. I wanted to take
the train but he would not budge as he wanted to take his old pickup. I understood why
when we arrived at Meadow Creek, WVA. He wanted to drive around and visit with
some of his old friends.
We took Aunt Gloria to Lewisburg, WVA to the cemetery where ancesters are buried. They also have that nice museum with furniture and pieces made by the first Surbaugh
to arrive in America in the 1700's. We visited the archives and copied some family
history.
Richard and Betty came out to WA State a few times and we always had such a nice time. They were both wonderful people.
He and Aunt Betty were two peas in a pod. They were one of a kind and both will be
missed so much.
