Richard A. Sciorra's Obituary
Richard A. Sciorra, age 83, of Lewes, DE, formerly of New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 26, 2013 at his late residence. Mr. Sciorra was born in North Bergen, New Jersey, son of the late James J. and Ruth Brenneisen Sciorra. He was also predeceased by his son Richard D. Sciorra. Mr. Sciorra retired from a management position after 37 years service with New Jersey Bell Telephone.
He was a US Navy Veteran; member of the VFW in New Jersey; member of the Power Squadron and past chairperson for the OSHER Life Long Learning Institute. His interests included reading, snow skiing, boating, gardening, and creating stained glass designs. He was beloved and devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchild. He enjoyed his many friendships here in Delaware.
Surviving is his wife of 59 years Joan Roscitt Sciorra; his daughter Donna Ingalls and her husband John of Hanahan, SC; granddaughter Gabrielle MacQueen and her husband Drew of Hampton, New Jersey; granddaughter Tamara Ingalls of Manassas, VA and great grandchild Aaron MacQueen of Hampton, NJ.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday July 30, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Edmond Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE. Interment will be private at a later date.
