Richard Wallis Schultz's Obituary
Richard Wallis Schultz, age 83, of Lewes, DE, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at, the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, DE. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, on December 26, 1928 son of the late Julius Augustus Schultz and Edna Yolanda Worstall Schultz. Mr. Schultz formerly lived in Wilmington from 1955-1990 before locating to the Lewes area in 1990. He retired after 35 years service with Sun Oil Company of Marcus Hook, PA. He was a Korean War Veteran who served in the U. S. Army as a paratrooper.
Square dancing with the Whirl-Away Square Dancing Club since 1990 and the Night Owls Square Dancing Club of Pennsylvania between the years of 1983 and 1990 was a favorite pastime he shared with his wife. Also, he was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, Lewes. A devoted and loving family man he will be dearly missed by his wife, children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis Schultz; one son Richard Schultz of Hudson, NY; one daughter Claudia Monroe and her husband Burr of Millsboro, DE; and four grandchildren: Shaun Monroe of Millsboro, DE, Burr Monroe and his wife Kaitlin of Georgetown, DE, Christina Monroe of San Diego, CA and Sylvia Monroe of Harbeson, DE.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call one hour prior to services.
Entombment with military honors will follow the Services at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE.
Memorial contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
