Richard Franklin Lafferty's Obituary
Richard Franklin Lafferty, a decorated Marine and devoted father, passed away on February 5, 2026.
Richard loved the mountains and found peace in the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and cooking—simple joys that brought him comfort and connection throughout his life.
He is survived by his children: Cullan Lafferty and his fiancée, Alexis Robison; Brennan Lafferty and his wife, Alicia Lafferty; and Shauna Milliken and her husband, Max Milliken. His sister Joan Destra, her husband Vince Destra and family. He is lovingly remembered by his granddaughters, Sadie and Ellie Lafferty, and his loyal furry companion, Sunny.
A quiet service will be held for immediate family only and then followed by Celebration of Life open house luncheon on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 11:30am – 2:30p.m. at Victor Emmanuel II Beneficial Society in Reading, Pa. We invite you to gather in sharing cherished memories and honoring Rich.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to K9 for Warriors in honor of Richard.
Richard will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
