Richard S. Insley's Obituary
Richard Sterling Insley, 76, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away on July 15th, 2021.
He was born on June 1, 1945, in Nottingham, England to Albert and Joan (Parks) Insley. He resided in Lock Haven, PA for over 30 years, until he retired to Rehoboth Beach, DE. His friends and family affectionately knew him as Rick.
Rick is survived by his beloved partner, Dolores Warner of Baltimore, MD; his devoted son, Lee Insley and his wife Dana of Doylestown, PA; his devoted son, Bruce Insley and his wife Erin of Pembroke, NH; his loving daughter, Jennifer Insley of Morgantown, WV; his adored grandchildren: Ryan, Drew, Rebecca, and Levi; his sister, Gail Stone and her husband Michael of South Yarmouth, MA; and his loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl Hope of South Yarmouth, MA.
Rick grew up in Pearl River, NY and graduated from Pearl River High School in 1963. He went on to attend Rockland Community College. Rick’s highly successful career in the apparel business spanned over 45 years with Puritan Clothing and Woolrich, where he achieved the position of Sr. Vice President of Merchandising and Licensing. This allowed him many cherished opportunities to travel abroad and experience fascinating cultures.
At the same time, simply being at the beach and boardwalk in Rehoboth with family and friends brought Rick tremendous joy. Rick was admired and adored by all who had the pleasure and honor of knowing him.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening, July 20, 2021, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Epworth Cemetery, Henlopen Ave., Rehoboth Beach, DE. All are invited to join the graveside service via live-stream Wednesday at 11:00 AM at https://psu.zoom.us/j/93711330192.
