Richard L. Hilaman's Obituary
Richard L. Hilaman, 83, of Lewes, DE, a hunter, fisherman, and businessman went into the wild blue yonder on February 19, 2016. He was born on March 27, 1932, son of the late, Eva (Johnson) and Ernest Hilaman.
Richard was born and lived around Wilmington for most of his life. Upon retirement, he moved to Lewes. He had many friends and "buddies." He loved Delaware and all of its connections.
Richard's last few months were spent battling multiple myeloma, but he's now pain free running with his dog, Ginger, and doing all the fishing he can! Have a beer and cheer him, or take a friend fishing.
The family would like to thank Delaware Hospice in Milford for their care the last few days of Richard's life.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his six brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Ann Hilaman; three children: Jack (Alicia), Sharon Sedita (Sal) and Dee Burnett (Steve); five grandchildren: Amanda and Emma Burnett, Katelyn Smith, Richard and Mark Hilaman; a great-grandson, Henry Olson; two sisters, Lois Raker of Wilmington and Reta Huntzinger of Chloride, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service honoring Richard's life will be held at a later date.
