Richard N. Drevo's Obituary
Richard Nenedal Drevo, age 76 of Lewes, DE, departed this life Wednesday August 26, 2020 at his home. He was born on December 17, 1943 in Takoma Park, MD, son of the late William L. and Olga N. Drevo.
Mr. Drevo built a career as an electrical engineer, having earned at Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from Capital Institute of Technology. He was a gifted bluegrass musician, specializing in 5-string banjo and founded Urban Recordings, Ltd. Mr. Drevo performed with Eastern Heritage and taught banjo lessons in his retirement. He was the youngest FCC licensed ham radio operator in Washington, DC, a member of Potomac Valley Radio Club, and a founder of the Lewes Amateur Radio Society. Mr. Drevo was a nationally certified US swimming referee and past president of Seven Locks Pool, Inc. in Bethesda, MD. Above all, Mr. Drevo cherished time with those he held most dear. He was a loving and devoted partner, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Drevo is survived by his partner, Barbara LaPlante of Lewes, DE; his sons: Richard Drevo II of Bethesda, MD and Samuel Drevo of Portland, OR; his granddaughter, Madeleine Drevo; his brother, William Luk Drevo, Jr. of TX; and his former wife, Jane Orr Drevo.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 26, 2020 at 1:00 PM, at National Bohemian Cemetery, Baltimore, MD.
