Richard L. Dey's Obituary
Richard L. Dey, age 77 of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021 at his home. He was born on January 30, 1944 in Trenton, NJ, son of the late James E. Sr. and Amber (Matthews) Dey.
Mr. Dey attended schools in Hamilton, NJ district. During college, he studied in New Bedford, MA and Mercer County Community College in Trenton, NJ, where he was a proud member of Kappa Sigma Kappa fraternity.
Mr. Dey built a lifelong career in the electric motor service industry, and owned Lockwood’s Electric Motor Service in Trenton, NJ. He enjoyed traveling, Princeton hockey games, and Trenton Titans/ Devils games.
Mr. Dey was an avid outdoorsman who loved the Pocono mountains, the beaches in Rehoboth Beach, and his Princeton hockey hat. Above all, he loved spending time with his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dey was predeceased by his brother, James E. Dey, Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joanne (Paquette) Dey; his son, Michael Dey; his daughter-in-law, Catie (Patterson) Dey; his daughter, Julie Dey; his son-in-law, Hamzeh Alhyasat; his grandchildren: Jaiden Dey, JJ Davis, Mackenzie Dey, and Asyia Alhyasat; his sister - in -law, Kathy Dey; his niece, Tracey Tubbs (Dey); his nephews: Timothy J. Dey, Mark Dey, and William Dey; several brothers -in- law and sisters-in-law; two longtime friends and employees: Michael Megee and Anthony Sparacino, Jr., and so many friends he loved very much.
