Richard R. Bartman's Obituary
Richard R. Bartman, age 74, of Lewes, DE, passed away Friday, October 2, 2009, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE. He was born August 17, 1935 in Birdsboro, PA, son of the late William and Dorothy (Shober) Bartman.
Richard retired in 1995 from Kiwi Polish Co., a division of Sara Lee Corp., where he had worked for 40 years, retiring as a Director of the Company, after which he received his Bachelor's Master's and Doctorate degrees in Business Administration from Columbia University, NY. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of American Legion Post 28. He was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara (Johansen) Bartman; a daughter, Melissa L. of Hunterdon, NC; a son Timothy J. of Lewes; two grandsons David I. and Jonathan M. and one granddaughter, Erica D'Luzen; and 4 great-grandchildren, Damian, Jordan, Connor and Cody, one sister Joan Rissell of Douglasville, PA, brothers William D. Bartman of Florida and John R. Bartman of Phoenixville, PA..
No services are scheduled and interment will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Delaware Hospice , 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
