Regina (Holden) Quinn's Obituary
Regina (Holden) Quinn, age 93, passed away Monday, January 7, 2008 at the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill, Smyrna, DE. She was born April 15, 1914 in Washington, DC, daughter of the late Bernard and Mabel (Sis) Holden.
Mrs. Holden was raised in Washington, DC where she attended St. Patrick's Academy. She married John Aloysius Quinn in 1939 and worked for the War Department during WW II. She lived in Stockton, CA for some years before moving back to the DC area. In 1959 she established a second home in Rehoboth Beach which she always enjoyed visiting.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John (April 17, 1977); her brother John Holden and her sister Mary (Holden) Hardie. She is survived by her son, John Gregory Quinn, Ph.D. of Lewes, DE; two brothers Francis Holden of Yucaipa, CA and Rev. Edgar Holden, OFM Conv. of Staten Island, NY; and her sister Gertrude (Holden) Palardy of Baltimore, MD.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Father Mark J. Connelly on Saturday, February 23, 2008, 11 AM, at St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church, DE Rt. 1 north of Five Points, Lewes, DE. Mrs. Quinn was previously inurned at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Dagsboro, DE. Arrangements were handled by Parsell Funeral Enterprises, Inc., Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Maryland Province Office of the Society of Jesus, 5704 Roland Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21210-1399.
