Rebecca B. Ellis' Obituary
Rebecca B. Ellis, 87, of Lewes, DE passed away at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes on Wednesday, February 1, 2006. Mrs. Ellis was born August 5, 1918 in Berlin, MD daughter of the late Horatio Crawford Bounds and Laura (Brown) Bounds.
Mrs. Ellis was employed by Farmer's Bank for many years retiring as Assistant Manager. Following her retirement, she worked as a secretary for the Epworth United Methodist Church where she was also a member and belonged to the Ladies Circle. In addition, she was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Pocohontas; she volunteered for Meals On Wheels; and was an avid reader, sports fan and enjoyed playing games and putting puzzles together.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Ellis, Jr. (1997); her sister, Elizabeth Dale and her brother, William Bounds. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, and many wonderful and devoted friends.
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, February 4, 2006, 11 AM, at Epworth Methodist Cemetery, Henlopen Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE; Rev. Jack Abel will be officiating. There will be no viewing. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Epworth U. M. Church Memorial Fund, 20 Baltimore Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
