I worked with Ray for several years at the Social Security Administration in Baltimore in the early 1960's. It was our first "big" job after graduation from college and we became good friends as well as colleagues. When I saw his picture in my community's newspaper (Annapolis Capital), I immediately knew who he was - he hadn't changed much. My prayers and condolences go out to his family. Edie Lord Segree
I remember Raymond from the 1960's as we both served with the 375th Quartermaster Corp, U.S Army Reserve at Sheridan Armory. Then as I began my Federal Government career with Social Security in 1971, and I again became acquainted with Ray. I have not seen Ray since his retirement, but knew that he moved to Lewes Delaware. Very sorry to hear this news, and send wishes to his family and friends,
Dear Carol and family, Our sympathy and prayers are with you at this time of loss. Ray was a great man who know how to enjoy life and bring that joy to those around him. I had the pleasure of working with Ray for many years and sharing many fond memories - the birth of children; the trips you took to Australia; the crab feed at your home in Eldersburg and so much more. Ray was a real gentleman and he will be missed. May God's blessings and comfort be with you.

Carol,
We are so sorry for your loss. We have many great memories of Ray.....Tom and Betty's anniversary picnic at South Park where Ray gave a clinic on volleyball, softball, and the fine art of partying! Again, at Jim's graduation party...another volleyball clinic and so many more great memories. Ray always had a great zest for life and had no problem sharing his joy. Even though you and Ray were technically cousins to us.....I always viewed Ray as my favorite Uncle!
love,

Since the first grade in elementary school, Robinson Township, this guy has been my best friend. Probably for a lot of reasons, firstly that he was just a "great guy." He had a great sense of humor and put up with my "shenanigans" for a lot of years. I always remember going into Ray's house, normally in the kitchen, which was pretty small and his Mom would have this warm smile on her face and make you feel so welcome. This was also true when Ray would visit my house, my Mother loved him.
Quick story-- my Mother was the "enforcer" of our (me and my six siblings) or our school work and you had to sit in front of her as she reviewed the report cards. It was like a tribunal. In my case, the ultimate test, subject grade by subject grade was "what did Ray Wasilko get?" Ray was a good student, elected "Most Likely to Succeed" in our senior class.
I also remember the accordion in the dining room and Ray had to practice regularly-- he was pretty good. He was a member of his church choir in McKees Rocks, Pa., where for some period his dad was the choir director.
Ray was a great athlete-- quarterback of the football team, good basketball player, ran track as a sprinter.
Lot's of things I could say about Ray Wasilko, but the things that come to mind that are most important is that he was a loving, caring, just all-around great guy. I loved that guy.
