Raymond Rigler's Obituary
LT. Col. Ret. Raymond Homer Rigler, age 88, of Lewes, DE died Sunday, July 30, 2006, at Harbor Healthcare & Rehab. Center in Lewes. Mr. Rigler was born in Hampstead, MD, son of the late Harry W. and Georgia A. (LaMotte) Rigler. He served over 20 years in the U.S. Army, and was a veteran of both WWII and the Korean War. He received the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star and the Silver Star medals. Mr. Rigler was a member of the VFW Post in Rehoboth Beach, DE and a member of the Midway Assembly of God Church, Lewes, DE.
Mr. Rigler is survived by his wife of 50 years Helen (Chanko) Rigler; a Son-Raymond Rigler of Lewes, DE; a daughter Debra A. Eckrich & husband Paul of Georgetown, DE; Three grandchildren , Michael, Katherine & Jennifer Eckrich; a niece, Karen Rigler & a nephew Mark Rigler & family, all of GA; and several cousins. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rigler was preceded in death by a twin brother Ralph L. Rigler in 2003.
A Memorial service will be held at Midway Assembly of God Church, Highway One, Lewes, DE at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 22, 2006 with Pastor Gary Ross officiating. Interment will take place on Thursday August 24, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. in Hamstead Cemetery, Hampstead, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Midway Assembly of God Building Fund, P.O. Box 669, Lewes, DE 19958.
