Ray was a neighbor of mine here at 75 Henry Street and though I only chatted with him on the elevator or on his way to the car, he was a most memorable gentleman. He was sophisticated, gracious, always with a smile and I always appreciated his kind and lovely demeanor. He was simply an elegant and congenial person and I'm glad to have known him in the minor way that I did over the years here at Whtiman.

I had the pleasure of knowing Ray from his partnership with my father Robert P. Hannigan, whom worked with Ray and later continued the Denholtz & Janer tradition. I also had a chance to go on a memorable trip with Ray in the Bahamas, where we sailed among the outer keys on a sailboat. He was a great guy and will be severely missed. My condolences and best wishes to Dorothy and Ray's family.

I have many beautiful childhood memories of times spent with Janer family. The wonderful Penn Dixie Easter parties, a first trip to Washington DC and my first fishing adventure when Uncle Ray took a picture of the tiny fish I caught close up with me standing farther back so it looked much bigger. His sense of humor, love of life, warm spirit, perfect mustache and amazingly handsome stature made him larger than life to this little girl. RIP Uncle Ray. Janet
