Randy Vernon Murdick's Obituary
Randy Vernon Murdick, age 49, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. Born in Reading, PA, on August 24, 1973, he was the son of Randy Lynn Murdick and Mollie Mae (Klein) Thompson.
A proud veteran, Randy answered the call to serve his country in United States Army. After his discharge, his path and love of the open road led to a career as a truck driver specializing in freight delivery, a career that took him all over the country and he logged hundreds of thousands of miles. He took the greatest pleasure in the simple things of life, especially fishing and hunting. In his spare time, during the warmer months, Randy would go surf fishing as often as he could, along the shores of the Southern Delaware beaches. Anyone who knew him would tell you that Randy had a huge heart and that he loved helping others and would go above and beyond to do what he could to help someone in need. His love and devotion to his family, and the time spent with them was what he cherished most. Randy was a kind, loving and devoted son, father, grandfather and brother and he will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Randy is survived by his wife, Misty Murdick; his son, Kody Murdick; his daughter, Kaitlynn Murdick (Chase Smith); his brothers, Jake, and Chad Murdick; his sister, Randi Lynn Argo, and his beloved grandchildren, Lilliana Marie, Rosalee Grace, Slade Ryan Hayes, and Fallon Sicily Grace.
Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Randy’s memory to be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 1702 East Highland Ave., Suite 400, Phoenix, AZ 85016 (www.wish.org).
