Ralph F. Williams' Obituary
Ralph F. Williams, Jr. age 91, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2006 at Sunrise of Westtown, PA.
He was born April 26, 1915 to Ralph and Edith Williams. A native of Delmar, he resided in Lewes for more than 60 years. After attending Duke University, he worked many years in service and marketing for a number of different companies. His years as corporate service manager for the Wayne Pump Company in Salisbury, MD and his work at the University of Delaware College of Marine Studies in Lewes were the highlights of his career.
Ralph was also active in the towns of Delmar and Lewes, serving on town council, the planning commission and the Lewes Kite Festival Committee. Ralph was a 32nd degree Mason and a 60-year member of Jefferson Lodge No. 15 A.F. & A.M. of Delaware.
He was married to the former Margaret Beebe, who predeceased him in 2003. He was also predeceased by his sister, Nettie Ellen Pollitt in l997.
He is survived by his two children, Jane Carroll of Thornton, PA and Ralph F. Williams, III of Lewes and their spouses Robert and Bonnie; six grandchildren and their spouses, Susan and Bob Ricciuti, Bryan and Lauren Williams, John and Heather Carroll, Andrew and Rita Williams, Joanna and Jim Sebald and Brett Williams; Six great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Elsie Swezey and Jean Ingram; and brothers-in-law, Dr. James Beebe of Rehoboth Beach and Allen Beebe of Connecticut.
A memorial service to celebrate Ralph's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at Parsell Funerals Homes and Crematorium, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes
The family suggests contributions to Beebe Medical Foundations, 902 Savannah Rd., Lewes, DE 19958 or Lewes Public Library, 111 Adams Ave., Lewes DE 19958.
The family also wishes to express their gratitude to the Sunrise Assisted Living Facility of Westtown, PA. and the Neighborhood Visiting Nurses for the excellent care and compassion provived to Ralph during the past year and a half.
