Ralph DeLoy's Obituary
Ralph Archabald DeLoy, age 96, of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Delaware Hospice Center, in Milford, DE. He was born on January 13, 1922 in Cheboygan, MI, son of the late William and Elza (Gahn) DeLoy.
Mr. DeLoy proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard in WWII at Fort Miles where he trained German Shepherd dogs for military use. His career spanned many years as a contractor in the Rehoboth Beach, DE area. Mr. DeLoy was a 32 degree member of Jefferson Lodge # 15 AF & AM of Lewes where he had served as Past Master.
Mr. DeLoy enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing cards with his very good friend, Anna Misener. Mr. DeLoy was known for his great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by his German Shepherd, Hunter.
In addition to his parents, Mr. DeLoy was preceded in death by his loving wife, Geraldine S. DeLoy; his son, Douglas R. DeLoy; and his daughter, Mary Ann DeLoy. He is survived by his daughter, Shirley A. Dawson (William) of Lewes, DE; his son, Michael E. DeLoy (Sally) of Milton, DE; his grandchildren: Karen, DJ, Jamie, Keith, Mark, Joseph, Gregory, and Amanda; and his eight great grandchildren.
All services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. DeLoy's name to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
