Ralph Eugene Day's Obituary
Ralph "Rick" E. Day Jr., age 65 of Bridgeville, DE, previously of Westminster, MD, passed away peacefully after a long illness with his wife by his side on Monday, October 02, 2017 at his home. He was born in Battle Creek, MI, on Sunday, December 02, 1951, son of the late Rev. Ralph E., Sr. and Margie E. Day.
Mr. Day graduated from James M. Bennett High School in Salisbury, MD and attended both Salisbury State and Lee Universities. He had a passion for joining people together in love and officiated many marriage ceremonies. In his spare time, Mr. Day enjoyed casting a line and catching a fish or two. Above all, however, he cherished the time spent with his treasured family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and he will be genuinely missed by everyone who knew him.
Mr. Day is survived by his beloved wife, MaryBeth Day; his son, Jason Day (Dawn) of Anderson, SC; his daughters: Emily Tew (William) of Wilson, NC, Elizabeth Shedwick (Brad) of Baltimore, MD, and Katharine Grieco of Baltimore, MD; his grandchildren: Natalie Day, Hayden Shedwick, Benjamin Shedwick, and Owen Shedwick; his brother, Randy Day (Debbie) of Salisbury, MD; his sister, Stephanie Merritt (J.P.) of Salisbury, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017, at 7:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE, where friends may visit beginning at 6:00 PM.
