Rachel E. Flaherty's Obituary
Rachel E. Flaherty-Moore, age 83, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away Friday, December 26, 2008, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE. She was born October 17, 1925 in Wilkes-Barre, PA to the late Frederick and Mary (Dugan) Kuhl.
Mrs. Moore worked in the restaurant business for several decades as a waitress and a hostess at the Avenue Restaurant in the 1960's and 1970's and at the Cafe' on the Green in the 1980's and 1990's.
Mrs. Moore is survived by two sons: Gerard C. Flaherty and his wife Deborah of Millsboro, DE and Kevin Flaherty of Rehoboth Beach, DE; four grandchildren: Kevin Flaherty, Jr. and his wife Catherine of Milton, DE, Kelly Kathleen Riley and her husband Michael of Yorktown, VA, Christopher Flaherty and his wife Sayaka of Okinawa, Japan, and Tara Lynn Flaherty of Oklahoma City, OK; four great-grandchildren: Jordan and Christina L. Flaherty of Milton, DE, Emma A. Riley of Yorktown, VA, and Layla L. Flaherty of Okinawa, Japan; brother, Fredrick Kuhl and his wife Kathy of Wilkes-Barre, PA; and sister, Patricia Bennick and her husband Joseph of Wilkes-Barre, PA. She was predeceased by four other siblings and by her first husband, Gerald L. "Jerry" Flaherty, in 1988 and by her second husband, William "Bill" Moore, in 2000.
All services will be private. Interment will be private at All Saints' Cemetery in Lewes, DE. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
