Phillip M. Mitchell's Obituary
Phillip Myles Mitchell, age 75, of Lewes, DE peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 after a 37 year illness with multiple sclerosis with his sister, Betty, by his side at Harbor Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on November 6, 1940 in Trenton, NJ, son of the late Phillip and Julia S. (Jones) Mitchell.
For most of his childhood Phillip lived and was raised in Wilmington, DE. He was a jokester at heart who enjoyed performing practical jokes on his family and friends. Prior to being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, Phillip worked as a Truck Driver for his father's business which he immensely enjoyed. Phillip will be dearly missed and remembered for his jesting nature by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by his two sons, Phillip and Todd. He is survived by his sister, Betty Mann-Beebe of Rehoboth Beach, DE; a son, Kevin Mitchell of NJ; a daughter, Carol Mitchell of NJ; a granddaughter, Lauren Goldberg of NJ; two grandsons: Brandon Nitschmann of NJ and Christopher Rausch of Lewes, DE; two nephews: Robert F. McVey and William H. Mann both of Rehoboth Beach, DE; numerous first cousins; and two dedicated caretakers, Gerard Spade and Diane Bambino both of Rehoboth Beach, DE.
