Gene Mattis
Carol and family, I want to express my sincere condolences to you and your entire family/friends on the passing of Phil Kless last year. I apologize for the lateness of this note, as for several years I searched for Phil. I wanted to thank him personally for taking a chance on a new college graduate with a degree in Safety Science, but with extremely limited experience, and giving him a start as a Safety Engineer with E-Systems (currently Ratheon) in 1990. Though I would return home to Pittsburgh, PA just over a year later for another opportunity, I thought of Phil often and 29 years later still appreciate the opportunity he afforded me. He helped set the foundation for a career that I continue to have a passion for and thoroughly enjoy all these many years later! Thank you, Phil! I will always appreciate the chance you took on me, your sense of humor, and for the early lessons learned from you and your assistant, Ginger Jones! With Sympathy, Gene T. Mattis
