Philip R. Haines' Obituary
Philip R. Haines, age 86, of Lewes, DE, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025.
Born on April 17, 1938, in Queens, NY, he was the son of the late Atwell and Fern Haines.
Mr. Haines grew up in Millburn, NJ, and graduated from Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania. He lived for many years in Hackettstown, NJ, where he made his career as a social worker for the State of New Jersey Department of Labor.
In 2000, he and his late wife, Marilyn Haines, moved to Delaware to enjoy their retirement years. They both had a love for traveling, often taking cruises together, and they cherished the time spent relaxing and exploring new places.
An avid baseball and football fan, Mr. Haines also had a great affection for cats and fishing. Above all, he loved his family and found the greatest joy in spending time with his grandsons. His family meant the world to him, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Haines is survived by his son, Dale Haines and his wife, Kathleen; and his two grandsons, Sean and Mark Haines.
Entombment will take place at a later date and will be private.
