Philip A. Brown's Obituary
Philip A. Brown, age 86, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Brown was born July 20, 1920 in Drexel Hill, PA, son of the late Joseph and Anna (Phillips) Brown.
Mr. Brown had been employed as a civilian Systems Analyst with the U.S. Marine Corps. He was active with the Army Reserves for 33 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel and he was on active duty with the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Brown enjoyed square dancing with the Liberty Squares, Philadelphia, PA; he was a member of the St. Andrew's Players in Drexel Hill, PA; a member of the Rehoboth Beach Senior Center; and he sang with the Bill Earl Chorus Group, Lewes, DE. Mr. Brown and his wife moved to the Rehoboth Beach area about 13 years ago from Drexel Hill.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Edith (Fegan) Brown; three daughters, Terry McLaughlin of Marlton, NJ, Patty Brown of Rehoboth Beach, DE, and Maureen Nestel and her husband Brian of Drexel Hill, PA; three sons, Robert J. Brown and his wife Regina of Springfield, PA, Philip A. Brown, Jr. and his wife Carol of Broomall, PA, and C.A. Brown of Rehoboth Beach, DE; sixteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 8, 11 AM, at St. Edmond's Catholic Church, King Charles & Laurel Streets, Rehoboth Beach, DE where friends may call one hour prior to Mass. The Rev. Raymond Forrester will be the celebrant. Interment will be at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA, Saturday, June 9.
