I am just finding out about the passing of Phil. My condolences to his family. I knew Phil from long time ago. Such a gentleman, loved it when he moved to Delaware and started Kody I Bear. This was the go to book for all of the baby showers I attended. What a privilege to have known him.
Phil once put in a rather difficult position of pursuing me after getting out of two back-to-back abusive relationships. Not one weren’t we compatible, but I certainly wasn’t ready for one esp with someone that lived 2 1/2 hours away. Then, when things came to a conclusion his friends blew me off. Thanks, Phil.
I met Phil at Epworth, we sat together as my husband was at the sound board. He was a sweet, nice person who gave to others through his charity, Kody’s Kids. So sorry to hear of his passing.

I had the pleasure of being part of Kody's Kids, meeting Phil about 7 years ago. From the beginning, it was so wonderful to share in his enthusiasm for working with schools, kids and staff in our neighborhoods. It was his passion, his life work, and it showed. I have been proud to call Phil my friend for 20 years. His kind soul and gentleness shined from him. He always had a beautiful smile and kind words for everyone he met or the people he knew.
Phil had a special place in his heart for the underdogs of this world! His compassion led him to his ministry of Bear Hugs for Babies. Phil worked tirelessly to meet the demands of the newborn babies in our communities who were born without the essentials that babies need.
Phil was a man with strong faith in God and understood what it meant to be a servant for God.
Phil helped me buy my first work truck 20 years ago, he saw in me my passion for landscaping. With that help, my business has grown and flourished.
I will always be grateful to Phil for believing in me when I didn't. That's the kind of man he was. I thank God for Phil!

I am honored to have known Phil, a kind and gentle person. He was in his realm of purpose, working with all children who loved Kody Bear. A profound sense of loss is felt by so many. Rest in peace Phil.
I was privileged to worship with Phil every Sunday morning at Coolspring Presbyterian Church. He was truly a giver as his organization (Kody’s Kids), serving disadvantaged children, clearly reflects. His sudden passing reminds me of how temporary and fragile our life is here on God’s Earth. My he now rest in peace in God’s Hands.
I am proud to call him my friend. I share with others, the profound sense of loss. Phil had given so much time and love to others through has work as Kody Obear. The messages he shared with children were always positive, and defined who Phil was a person. Phil shared his positive messages in several childrens books, and in many themed episodes of the Kody show posted on social media. He worked tirelessly doing personal appearances at schools, libraries, parades etc in the greater Delaware area. I had the honor to work with Phil doing movie reviews for age appropriate children and family related movies that he incorporated as a segment into his YouTube channel. He did God's work through the magical world of Kody Obear and was a true inspiration to the lives he touched. I'm so blessed to have known Phil and pray that his legacy of Kody will live on.
