Pauline H. Chaffinch's Obituary
Pauline H. Chaffinch, age 87, of Bridgeville, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2008, at Lofland Life Care in Seaford, DE. She was born on February 11, 1921 in Greenwood, DE daughter of the late George Henry and Madeline C. (Willy) Harris.
Mrs. Chaffinch was a member of St. Johnstown United Methodist Church in Greenwood and a former member of the Epworth United Methodist Church on Blanchard Road, Greenwood. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her late husband of 65 years, Leonard Chaffinch (2007). She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Mae Chaffinch of Bridgeville, DE and Portia M. Brandt of Muncy, PA; two sons, Darl V. Chaffinch of Apache Junction, AZ and Col. L. Aaron Chaffinch, DSP, Ret. and his wife Karen of Greenwood, DE; five grandchildren; and her sister-in-law Helen Calder of Middletown, DE.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 7, 2008, 11:00 AM at St. Johnstown United Methodist Church, Greenwood, DE where friends may call beginning at 9:30 AM. Interment will be in the adjoining churchyard cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Everett C. Isaacs and the Rev. Denise Founds will be co-officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, Bridgeville, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Johnstown United Methodist Church, c/o Brenda Prettyman, 14569 Sussex Highway, Bridgeville, DE 19933.
